You have completed your initial Fact Find conversation with iTrust121. We will now review your circumstances and prepare a personalised Executive Summary outlining the areas identified and the initial direction your planning may take.
Your Planning:
What Happens Next
You are here
Step 1 — We Have Explored What Matters to You
During your initial Fact Find call, your Licensed iTrust Adviser asked questions to understand you, your family and what you would like your planning to achieve.
We explored areas such as:
the people and assets you want to protect;
your existing Wills, LPAs, trusts and life assurance;
any concerns about probate, later life or future family needs; and
the legacy you would like to leave behind.
This conversation was not about asking you to choose a product. It helped us understand your priorities and the areas that may require further consideration.
Our Specialist Case Team will now review what you have told us and consider the direction your planning may take.
What we do now
Step 2 — We Prepare Your Executive Summary
Our Specialist Case Team reviews the information gathered during your Planning Conversation.
Rather than looking at one concern in isolation, the team considers your wider circumstances, including:
your family and beneficiaries;
your property, savings, investments and life assurance;
any existing planning arrangements; and
your longer-term concerns and objectives.
We then prepare your personalised Executive Summary, which outlines:
your current position;
the main areas identified;
your priorities and objectives; and
the initial direction of planning.
Your Executive Summary is an initial overview for discussion. Nothing is created, transferred or put into place at this stage.
How We Decide What May Be Suitable
We do not begin with a product and try to make it fit your circumstances.
We begin with you: your family, your concerns, your assets and what you would like your planning to achieve.
From there, we consider which products and services may help address the needs identified during your conversation. Your recommendation may include one service, several connected services or alternative options for you to consider.
Nothing is created or put into place at this stage.
Your review meeting
Step 3 — We Explain the Recommendations
Your Licensed iTrust Adviser will arrange a further conversation to take you through your Executive Summary in clear, straightforward language.
They will:
confirm that your circumstances have been recorded correctly;
explain the areas identified by our Specialist Case Team;
discuss the planning options that may be suitable;
answer any questions you have; and
explain the likely costs and ongoing responsibilities.
Following this review, your full Planning Proposal can be prepared, setting out the products and services being recommended and how they may work together.
You will have the opportunity to understand and question every recommendation before deciding whether it is right for you.
Your decision
Step 4 — You Decide Whether to Proceed
Once your recommendations have been explained, you can take time to consider them and discuss them with your family.
You may decide to accept:
all of the recommendations;
only some of the recommendations; or
none of the recommendations.
Should you decide to proceed, we will confirm:
the products and services selected;
the relevant costs and payment arrangements;
the information still required; and
the next stages.
We will then gather your detailed instructions, which may include your beneficiaries, executors, guardians, attorneys, trustees and the wishes you would like recorded.
Only after you confirm that you wish to proceed do we begin preparing your personal arrangements.
Putting it into place
Step 5 — We Prepare, Implement and Support Your Planning
Once we have your detailed instructions, the relevant documents can be prepared.
Depending on your agreed plan, these may include:
your Will or LPAs;
trust and trustee documents;
your Letter of Wishes;
professional trustee or executor appointments; and
supporting property, asset or policy arrangements.
Before anything is signed, your Licensed iTrust Adviser will explain what each document does, who has been appointed and what responsibilities arise.
Once approved, we coordinate the practical stages needed to put your planning into place. Where iTrust121 Pro is appointed, it may also provide ongoing governance, administration, record keeping and support over the lifetime of the arrangement.
Our involvement does not necessarily end when the documents are signed. Where applicable, we help ensure your planning remains properly supported over time.
Questions You May Have
-
Your Executive Summary is a clear, personalised overview of what we discussed during your Planning Conversation.
It summarises:
your current circumstances;
the main concerns or gaps we identified;
what you would like your planning to achieve; and
the initial direction we believe should be explored.
It is not your final recommendation and nothing is put into place at this stage. Your Licensed iTrust Adviser will review it with you, check that everything is accurate and answer any questions before a full Planning Proposal is prepared.
-
No assets are transferred simply because you completed a Planning Conversation or received a proposal.
Your personalised recommendation will explain exactly which assets or arrangements may be affected, what you would continue to own and control and what would only happen if you decided to proceed.
-
Not necessarily.
Some planning does not involve the home at all. In other cases, a recommendation may involve property ownership arrangements or a defined financial interest rather than transferring the legal ownership of the whole property.
Your proposal will explain exactly what applies to you.
-
Any property-related recommendation must take account of your mortgage, legal ownership and your ability to sell, remortgage, refinance or move home later.
A mortgaged property would not simply be transferred without considering the lender and the wider practical consequences.
-
The trustees are legally responsible for administering the trust.
Depending on your recommendation, this may include trusted family members alongside iTrust121 Pro acting as a professional trustee.
-
Where appointed, iTrust121 Pro provides professional oversight, continuity, administration and record keeping.
It can support family trustees, help manage compliance requirements and assist when trustee decisions or distributions are required.
-
A trust is created for the benefit of the people or causes named within it.
The trustees manage the trust in accordance with its legal terms, while your Letter of Wishes can provide personal guidance about how you would like your family to be supported.
-
Your Letter of Wishes can normally be reviewed and updated as your family and circumstances change.
Some legal documents or trust arrangements may require a more formal process to change, which will be explained where relevant.
-
Signing is only one part of implementation.
Depending on the plan, further work may include registrations, trustee appointments, property arrangements, asset transfers, record keeping and ongoing administration.
